We use server imaging through one process, file backups through another process (scripts \& cloud storage), and UrBackup for client computer image backups that can be restored within an hour or two. Of all my backup strategies, this one has been the most saving as I can usually just pop in another drive on the downed computer, boot off a cd or dvd, connect to the server, then restore the computer from the last nightly backup - and it's free\! There are also a lot of options for this application that are constantly being updated and added to by the developer, and it has lots of storage varieties that can be implemented. I have tried a few different ways of installing this application (OS's), but for us the Windows servers seem to fit our needs best. Also, we are able to maintain Full \& Incremental image backups on our schedule where it doesn't really interfere with our day-to-day work. > > **Puntos en contra**: I can't really think of any cons, especially since it's free to use. If I had one suggestion, it would be to lay out more ideas on fine-tuning the procedures for the backup schemes. I needed a backup solution that could regularly sync, do file diffs for storage, access my SQL databases, some emergency recovery options, and more\! It is fast, has a nice dashboard, and is crossplatform. The clients are configurable so I know what it is getting, and what it isn't. > > **Puntos en contra**: UrBackup only allows a single drive as the destination for backup. I find this a very silly limitation for an otherwise nearly perfect solution. > > I've used other backup services in the past. They were slow, clunky, and I had little faith in what I was getting. UrBackup changes all of that. I can see exactly what I'm looking for. The environment is simple. It is easy to get access to what you need. It works on both servers, and on desktops. Cross platform. It can access my MS Sql Servers, and it can also grab stuff from my linux boxes. It has images, file backups, and PXE boot. All the features I want. It gives me piece of mind.
