Game Changer for Our Practice
Comentarios: Transitioning to Clio has been a game-changer for our practice. With working out of office frequently their cloud based platform allows me to access everything I need from anywhere, which is incredibly convenient. Customer support was top notch when we called in, short wait and easy resolution. While I did experience a slight learning curve initially, the benefits far outweigh any minor hiccups. Overall and after trying out other platforms, we're going with Clio there's just no comparison!
Puntos a favor:
I was really impressed with how Clio simplifies everything. I was searching for a replacement for my previous legal management software and came accross Clio and thought we'd give it a try. It's truly a breath of fresh air compared to what we're used to. The ability to automate client intake and manage cases has made our work much more efficient. Also the integrations with other tools we already use made it so it wasn't like starting from scratch.
Contras:
The mobile app seems to have limitations compared to the desktop version, which can be frustrating when traveling and accessing information on the go. I called into support and they were able to help me with what I needed though away from main workstation, and hear that the app is being improved currently.
Clio is great!
Comentarios: My overall experience with clio has been great, especially with the new medical treatment tabs, it helps make my life easier
Puntos a favor:
I love how easy clio is to use and all of the most important information is on the main page of a case
Contras:
I least like the layout of clio, I think it could be laid out a little better
Clio—good but not great.
Comentarios: Overall, I like clio but needs too many expensive integrations to do everything I need.
Puntos a favor:
Lots on integrations with third party software. Program is relatively easy to use, and support is good.
Contras:
Did not have integrated passive time tracking and document automation.
Clio is a key part of our firm and helps us achieve more! Highly recommended.
Comentarios: I know that by using Clio, they will constantly be improving and that I will always get the customer service when I need it. Relying on Clio for over 13 years, I feel my files are organized, my communications are streamlined, and I know I'm giving better service to my clients because of Clio.
Puntos a favor:
Clio is a great foundation for our firm. I am a long time Clio user, over 13 years now. I have seen it grow and improve. Some things have stayed the same - excellent customer service, minimal to no downtime. It replaces at least one full time employee with the automated reminders, calendaring, etc. Not only do I organize my digital client files in Clio, I track all my payments and trust accounting, I am able to have team member accountability through task tracking, we have regular and effective communication with the clients through the Clio Client portal. When I'm using Clio, it helps me be a better lawyer, it helps me focus more on my clients, and keep my clients happy through great communication.
Contras:
While it has all the basic features in a package to choose from, there are parts you have to pay to add on. Clio Grow for intaking new clients, meshes great with Clio Manage but it does have an extra cost. The document template feature that is built in is okay, and the add-on Clio Draft is supposed to be a lot better but it's at additional cost and a bit difficult for me to intuitively figure out. It's costly to have Clio, but it does save having an extra employee and saves from missing a deadline and having client's complain due to lack of communication, so to me it's worth the cost.
Awesome product, saved us money and earned us even more.
Puntos a favor:
I have loved how much Clio integrates with other programs. I love how easy billing it and how it's helped us grow as a firm.
Contras:
I would like to see better reports to generate.
Satisfied if I were in some other area of law
Comentarios: Overall I would say Clio has a nice product for certain firms. It is definitely not made with personal injury practice in mind.
Puntos a favor:
User interface is appealing. Client portal and messaging is convenient
Contras:
Collab with Clio for Co Counsel is not functional for document share or notating the file properly
Clio: Great for what you need
Comentarios: Clio is a great, basic legal site that provides most of what you need. Very easy to use, the scheduling features are top-notch, and they have the best customer service I've ever seen. Only downsides is that it's very basic and does provide a full amount of features, despite the constant updates.
Puntos a favor:
- Clean layout - Straight-forward interface - Friendly Customer Service
Contras:
- Basic Billing tab - Too many Eservice fees - Not enough features
I can't imagine practicing without it.
Comentarios: Signing up for Clio is probably the best business decision I've ever made.
Puntos a favor:
It makes running my law office a breeze. I can't imagine practicing without it.
Contras:
I honestly can't think of anything I would change about it.
Clio is my friend
Comentarios: The customer service and training are excellent
Puntos a favor:
Easy to learn and a lot of capabilities if you don't mind "add ons"
Contras:
Some of their solutions were a little unconventional, ie if an atty wants two different rates I was advised to change the rate case by case. I thought there should have been a better solution
manages everything better
Comentarios: it is an excellent software for legal procedures that makes everything easier to organize and that clients feel satisfied with quick procedures
Puntos a favor:
it has been a software that facilitates daily tasks that could require a lot of time, with clio it is easier to invoice, appointment reminders and have all the documents in one place to access them from anywhere without having to be in the office with the physical documentation its security and reliability allow you to have all the documents in the cloud with the certainty that nothing will happen to them and they will be protected
Contras:
in my use I have not detected anything that I dislike and I feel that everything has worked correctly without causing any problems
Lots of great add-ons - AND the basics are done well
Comentarios: We onboarded with Clio back in 2014 and we haven't looked back! Sure there were some growing pains, we have seen it grow and strengthen in its offerings over the years, but the immediate tech support available to our staff has been a constant from the very beginning. Now, after so many years and having to pull reports and data on (very) old time-entries and past users, we realize what a smart investment this was. Clio's record-keeping is exact, intact, and reliable.
Puntos a favor:
Robust platform that integrates time-keeping, billing, write-offs, and lawyer productivity seamlessly. Conflict checking. Competent, authorized human customer service is truly just a phone call away - no difficult menus and queuing music.
Contras:
Document filing/storage area by matter is a bit clunky, as is the Clio-generated Client email - though it is conceptually a great idea it doesn't work smoothly in practice.
Clio Exceeds Our Expectations Every Time
Comentarios: Switching over to Clio was one of the best decisions our law firm ever made.
Puntos a favor:
Clio is very user friendly. The company is extremely responsive to client input with regards to product enhancements.
Contras:
I honestly cannot think of anything I don’t like.
Switching from PC Law to Clio
Comentarios: Our experience with Clio has been excellent. Their entire team is responsive, they outsourced the data transfer to some excellent referrals also making the transition easier than anticipated
Puntos a favor:
Customer service is extremely helpful and responsive, our representative is also very responsive and knowledgeable. Programs are fairly easy to use. Transition from previous software was easier than anticipated
Contras:
We have a different way of inputting payments so it was a bit cumbersome but we have now learned how to work around these issues
Solo Practitioner Recommends Clio
Comentarios: My experience with Clio has been excellent. Although Clio was not intuitive at first, it became so after a few months. The support has been excellent. Also, I have found Clio responsive to suggestions for improvement.
Puntos a favor:
For a reasonable price, Clio includes a number of useful features in one package: DocuSign capacity, billing, trust accounting, document creation, hourly billing tracking, and of course management of cases and case loads.
Contras:
Clio's method of running credit card or ACH fees and then tracking them is a bit frustrating. I do appreciate the fact that the fees are not taken from the trust fund.

Easy Peasy
Comentarios: We really have benefitted from our switch to Clio: we are able to track files better, share calendars better, and invoices don't get forgotten anymore.
Puntos a favor:
We love the invoicing the most - we are sure we have re-captured getting paid for many files we used to not be able to track and get paid for. Now we can send an invoice online and get paid online too. Making a bill is quick and easy, and our staff even thinks fun!
Contras:
We were considering moving our document storage to Clio, but we couldn't preset files with our folder organization system and it seemed more difficult to attach files to emails, so we didn't end up doing this. Also, when sending an email from Clio, I would prefer that it auto-saves it to the Clio file.

Couldn't Live Without Clio Manage and Clio Grow
Comentarios: Excellent. I highly recommend Clio and it is worth the cost. I also appreciate the ongoing CLE opportunities, some of which are free.
Puntos a favor:
Clio helped me hit the ground running when I opened my solo practice. Nearly every feature is user intuitive, and I have already been delighted to see Clio continue to upgrade its services in the two years I have used them. I couldn't survive (i.e. stay organized) without all of its features, billing, document e-signature service, and access to its partner, Proof for service of process.
Contras:
Initially I was disappointed that Clio Grow and Clio Manage didn't "talk" to one another. I love Clio Grow to keep track of leads and potential clients, and I like the ability to transfer a file over to Clio Manage. I didn't like that they weren't truly in sync. However, Clio has worked to solve that pet peeve and is continuing to make improvements.
Alternativas consideradas:
Not a good product
Comentarios: I was misled in the sales call and they talked me into purchasing Grow. Boy, what a mistake! Grow is a product that promises to automate the intake experience but does not work as advertised at all. The tech support seems unable to figure out the problems I am having, and paying for premium support was one more waste of money.
Puntos a favor:
Manage makes it easy to send bills and get paid electronically. It can maintain files and track time.
Contras:
Grow is a useless product that doesn't really work, and premium tech support is a waste of money.

Long-time user whom,Ike’s the continued innovation
Comentarios: I am an unabashed Clio fan. I enjoy it and appreciate the continuing innovation and willingness to listen to users for their ideas and thoughts on features.
Puntos a favor:
Clio’s ability to integrate key features internally - calendaring, invoicing, payment, and communications, along with allowing for third-party programs to work within the eco system make it a very easy to use 1 stop shop.
Contras:
Sometimes some features are only available at the highest level of service, which while understandable can be hard on younger folks just starting out.
Clio Is the Most Useful Database We have Used
Comentarios: Overall Clio was a vast improvement to our previous programs (Tabs 3 and Abacus). The change in customer service however has dampened my enthusiasm..
Puntos a favor:
Integration of payment, invoicing and CRM I used to love the customer service but now....NO
Contras:
Difficult to customize. Customer Service has gone from knowledgeable Canadian staff to foreign people not familiar with the program. You are often on your own to try to resolve questions - or make multiple queries.

Get It. It's Literally A Lifesaver.
Comentarios: Great! The people and the organization are great, and they're constantly giving as a company. They give you resources on accounting, technology, business building, client management, time management, everything you can think of to run a business as an attorney. There are SO many things you can do with Clio, I'm just scratching the surface. And they're still improving and adding more things on! It really is the best thing in the world for what you're paying. I 110% recommend Clio to any attorney in the world; it's the best thing since sliced bread, and it's truly a lifesaver.
Puntos a favor:
Easy to Use, Does literally everything I can want as an attorney. Great use of technology to streamline my practice and make normal tasks take seconds (drafting, reminding clients of court dates, etc). Very quick response time from their tech support, and most of the people are very nice and courteous even if they can't help you with what you want. The fact that they continuously update, make changes, and add features that we either wanted or didn't know we wanted until now, especially for such a low monthly price.
Contras:
The aesthetics of some of the features. Some of the features don't work as well as I want or there are little glitches on my computer (windows that pop up saying things I don't quite understand as a lay person haha), but these can likely be solved by talking to tech support. Some of the tech support people aren't that helpful, or will refer you to call their hotline so they can set up a Zoom call so you can share your screen and they can see the problem, which takes a whole lot longer than I would like. But generally they do solve the problem pretty easily.
Best legal software I have ever used!
Comentarios: I have had nothing but great experiences with Clio
Puntos a favor:
i like that I am able to streamline the intake process in Clio Grow and then pass the baton to my colleagues seamlessly in Clio Manage and Clio Draft
Contras:
There are still some things that need improvement, but i love that the support team is always so helpful and try to find workarounds for me, and then they take our suggestions seriously and send those to their design team to try to figure out how to put those suggestions in action.
Highly Recommend!
Comentarios: It is a very comprehensive system and I would recommend it to law firms of any size!
Puntos a favor:
It captures all of the information needed to work on a file in one place and allows me to be much more productive.
Contras:
Clio does not yet work with Connecticut Probate Courts to be able to upload documents directly to their system.
Highly recommend
Comentarios: Very good - any contact I've had with any staff member, from sales to onboarding to support has been excellent.
Puntos a favor:
I've been using Clio Manage since I started by firm in 2020 and find it to be very responsive to my needs. I've recently also started to use Clio Grow which I hadn't really thought would make a whole lot of difference to me, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I enjoy the interface, the support is good, it does what I need it to. Highly recommend it.
Contras:
The initial onboarding was great, but once you're up and running, you're left alone. Fair enough, but I suspect there are features that I could be using and would be beneficial to me, that I don't know about either because they didn't exist when I was onboarded, or I didn't need them initially and I've forgotten they exist. This could be fixed by a 6 month review or 1 year review, but it's not critical. Perhaps for firms with more users/wider range of services, they'd pick this up and follow it up with Clio. It's hard to follow up on something you don't know exists.
