Comentarios: We have loved working with CampMinder. Besides the great software, the responsiveness of the support team and the proactive programmers, CampMinder is also focused on improving Camps through advice and articles about managing a camp. These are real Camp people, not just software people.

Puntos a favor:

It is flexible enough to tailor to our specific needs and their support is always willing to help you figure out a way to do what you need. They are constantly creating new tools and updating the software.

Contras:

The activity scheduling module needs to be improved as it doesn't work for us. Also needs more focus on managing staffing although this is currently in the works and looks to resolve this issue.

Comentarios: I would recommend CampMinder to any organization who has a camp of any kind. It is so easy for our customers to use and that is number one to happy parents coming back to register year over year.

Puntos a favor:

The ease of the navigation, the well trained customer support technicians, the Campanion app... just about everything!

Contras:

The new pop-up window that asks if you want to send the confirmation email or not when we are doing a back-office enrollment and processing payment. If payment declines after we select YES in this pop-up box (can't do it before processing payment as the pop-up window appears before this process takes place) then our customers get a total of 3 notifications which is causing confusion, they get the confirmation email we selected yes to send, the payment decline automated email message and then a personal follow up from our camp staff providing instructions to update payment method and making them aware their camper really is not enrolled until we gather a valid payment method. (already placed this feedback into a ticket which was already answered with suggestions to make our confirmation email more clear about payments declining-loved the reply I received with that suggestion!) To piggy back off this a little - when payment does decline the process of placing the camper back on the waitlist or back into the applied status is a little cumbersome. Payment declines>commit changes>session edit>cancel>commit changes>session edit>waitlist/applied>commit changes>email customer - maybe we can auto place people in the applied status when a payment declines through a back-office process just like it automatically does this when a customers payment fails at the time of registration?

So many clicks in so little time

Campminder has so many features to be able to manage your campers and staff effectively. There are a myriad of features to pull up camper reports and information, as well as organizational reports. This system is not lacking in any features. You can pull together a lot of information quickly when you know the software very well.

Contras:

It takes a long time to get to know the software and many essential functions are several clicks and menus away from the main page. In order to take attendance the user must click through at least 3 things to get to something so critical. It was difficult for our staff to get used to finding the report functions. Not everyone is utilizing this software to its fullest because it is difficult to learn.

CampMinder Gets an A++

Comentarios: I am very pleased with CampMinder. We have used it for the past 7 years or more, and I have become very familiar with the program and I am very happy with how easy it is to create reports, enter and refund payments, access information, and the support team is out of this world! They are knowledgeable and patient and understanding, and if they don't know the answer, they will send it further up the "food chain" and find an answer or solution. I feel very comfortable calling the support team whenever I run into a snag. They have saved me a ton of time. Time that it would have taken me to find a solution on my own! I'm very thankful for them!
I also find that the help section and videos are very useful.

Very easy to use and many features available. Support team is top notch!

Contras:

Unable to have our staff add money to their discretionary fund using a credit card. But we have found a work around. Just would be helpful if this was available.

Perfect database for camp registration!

Campminder helped make my first year managing camp great!

Comentarios: My experience with Campminder has been very positive. I have reached out to CM for help so many times and every time they are always so kind and do their best to get the info I need or to document my suggestions.

Campminder is surprisingly intuitive--About a year ago, I found myself running registration for and then helping manage a 10 week day camp of around 220 campers per week. I had ZERO experience in camping. Between the fairly easy to follow layout, the help library, and the availability of live-agents, I was able to figure out how to do everything our camp needed me to do. We had a great summer.

Contras:

I can't think of many cons to my Campminder experience. There are a few things in the system that seem like they are relics of early iterations that could still be cleaned up. There are processes related to handling registration and payment for 50/50 custody families that could be improved. But it seems like progress is ongoing and the few things I've noticed are likely to be addressed before long.

I'd never want to use anything else!

Comentarios: 10/10... Still waiting for an interactive map of cities to display current campers for recruiting. As it is we have to input addresses into another program.

We have been with Campminder since nearly the beginning. The way it has progressed and become better and better has been awesome. Campminder has always been open to new ideas that help camps better utilize their software for each and every unique situation.

Contras:

Not much! They are always on top of their customer service. Anytime we have an issue our tickets are answered very quickly. I do wish the merge tool of multiple accounts was quicker. Perhaps a notification when the system finds two similar accounts.

Happy with Campminder

Comentarios: I find Campminder to be a robust system that can accomplish most tasks in an efficient manner. Overall I feel that it meets about 95% of our needs.

I like the ease of getting customer support. I called many times over the summer! Each time I spoke to a rep who was able to offer thorough answers to my questions.

Contras:

We still have to figure out a better way to use the system to track campers who leave camp. Person Tags and Notes are helpful - but they just don't hit the mark. I would also like the system to better flag camper requests & disrequests when creating bunks. Lastly - when creating reports - the column headers always need to be changed before I can share the data with parents. For example, the column header for a parent email address in a report would be F1P1 Login/Email. If I'm sending a report to parents - I have to change the column headings.

Easy to Use, Versatile, and Great Customer Service

Comentarios: Having so many parts of our business under one software means that we have a comprehensive understanding of every camper and staff member at our fingertips, which makes it easier to personalize our service and respond to individual needs. Easy reporting means that we spend less staff time on licensing and certification compliance, which is incredibly important.

Campminder is an all-around tool for our camp, allowing us to track campers as individuals and as part of their families; manage their medical, dietary, and logistics needs; track payments and communications; and also do the same with staff. Any time we have needed assistance, Customer Support has been fantastic, giving us thoughtful and efficient advice and making sure our needs are met. Campminder saves us a lot of time.

Contras:

I am pretty sure there are a lot of features that we don't make use of yet, but I just saw that there is training being offered to help camps figure out all the ways the software can help, which one of us will attend.

A remarkable tool for every camp!

Comentarios: We work with a specialized camp population which makes the "standard" software hard to apply in our areas of need BUT CampMinder works with us to adjust, accommodate, or individualize as needed. Our suggestions and issues are met with problem solving with our CM team. Can't say enough about the support you get with this software. Every now and then we look at other products but NONE can match the level of functionality or support that we get from CampMinder.

While the learning curve is steep, the CampMinder team is with you all the way. This software manages so much information and data for our camp. What we can do with that info/data feels endless some days. We love the ability to run reports, gathering specific information needed on every child. They KNOW camps so many reports already exist at the click of a button. Camp people building software for camps. The overall responsiveness to our needs is incredible as well.

Contras:

You will need to take the time to learn how to truly utilize all aspects of this software. There are days where I still feel like a novice, even after years of working with it, but I have learned to reach out to my CM support. Once you start to understand how to set up reports, seasons, documents, etc... It starts to click. Realize I am NOT techie at all.

Comentarios: I LOVE this software. I am much more efficient completing reports and managing all camper/family information, forms and communications. I can send hundreds of invoices or charge hundreds of credit cards with the touch of a single button!! It used to take me a month with our old software.

I love the ease of use -its user friendly, I can find what I need to find -where I expect to find it. If at any time I need help I can call a real person -who speaks English -and they will be able to help me AT THAT TIME!!!

Contras:

Remembering to click exactly what I what -each little box I need, is sometimes a hassle. I have to pay close attention, otherwise the reports I create may not be accurate. Although I can tell right away if I didn't click all the boxes -the results show immediately.

CampMinder - Our Summer Camp Database Solution

Comentarios: Working with CampMinder has helped us feel confident that the data in the database is accurate. In the past, we worked with other online camp database software that had us constantly questioning if the reports we were pulling were complete and accurate. This is a non-issue with CampMinder. We have been able to move our forms and documents online for parents to fill out and for us to be able to report on. This has helped us become more environmentally friendly, since we are no longer requiring multiple paper forms. We also feel well taken care of when calling in with questions, their customer service team is fantastic.

CampMinder has impeccable customer service. The software is user friendly and inclusive. Parents and Staff have an easy time navigating and using the features of this program. I love the bunking module because it saves an incredible amount of time. The reporting system is very versatile as well. I like that I am able to follow a person throughout all of their interactions over years with the unified person record. It allows me to see a person as a former camper, former staff member, and a parent of an enrolled camper all in one easy to understand record.

Contras:

Some of the modules cost additional money, our camp sees many children, but we do not have the high rates that some other camps charge, so we have to do without some of the modules such as fundraising, because the cost is not something we can incur at this point. I also wish there were a better way to report and email groups across seasons. You can produce reports in different seasons, but across seasons is currently impossible as far as I know.

Great Customer Support

This software works quite well for our summer camp and much of it is intuitive. Certain features we only use once or twice a year and we often forget how to use them. Sometimes we are growing or changing our program and need to add features and functions. This is not always intuitive. But my favorite thing about this software is the ease with which I can get support. They have great help videos and best of all fantastic support staff readily accessible by phone to help create solutions, solve problems, and teach. The back end support is truly excellent.

Contras:

Occasionally I run into a function I would like that does not exist so I have to use some kind of work around for the season. It can require a bit of extra work on my end. However, I've always felt that when this occurs the CampMinder team takes note of the issue and tries to solve it, or make it better for future iterations of the software or future seasons, which I appreciate.

Very robust, well-developed software

Comentarios: The customer support is great - very positive experience with support and with account representatives. They are honest about what their software can do, and they are also always working to improve their product.

Puntos a favor:

CampMinder is clearly committed to quality and continually improving their product. They are always making updates to improve the software, and they offer some level of solution for almost everything a camp would want to do. CampMinder makes internal communications very easy, helps us keep track of leads and returning campers, and helps us organize logistics and camper information.

Contras:

CampMinder is not set up for the way our camp does accounting (they are in the process of making updates to their financial system, so we hope this will be a good solution for us), so this causes us serious issues when it comes to collecting balances and reporting on income to accounting. As mentioned above, they are in the process of making updates that should address some of our issues, and we believe that CampMinder will continue to improve to meet the needs of its clients.

Comentarios: CampMinder has revolutionized the way we manage camper paperwork, check in and check out procedures, and health care at camp. Using CM has allowed me as the director more time to interact with campers and less time spent in the office.

CampMinder is very easy to use if you are even remotely tech savvy. I love the instructional videos and the articles to help you understand how to set up the system. Tracking a person's history with our camp programs is awesome, allowing us to maintain years of records at our fingertips. Reporting is straight forward and time efficient. I like the bulletin features and being able to tag other colleagues and communicate in a way that directly links to a person's profile page.

Contras:

It does not meet all our needs as an organization. We need a way to manage property reservations outside of summer and were told that was platform was being added to CM. We have yet to see it and therefore need to pay for yet another software platform. The customer-facing side, CampInTouch, is clunky compared to other companies and the ability for camps to customize what customers see is limited. Our most common questions revolve around camper guardians being unable to find information packets on CampInTouch, in part because they blend in with camper paperwork. It seems like CM was designed more for large east coast style camps where the campers stay for several weeks. There are far less useful features for those of us who have one-week sessions.

As the Executive Director of a non-profit summer camp and retreat center, I am constantly pulling up data from one of our camper families or donor families (i.e. last time they were here, what programs do they attend or which services they purchase. We have used Campminder as for our registration software for about 10 years now. It is reliable and provides me with the relevant information I need. As with all software, it takes a little bit to learn how to navigate, but we have had excellent customer service and it is a good value for a mid-sized operation. In addition to using their software to register over 3000 campers each summer. We also make good use of their staff onboarding and management tools. We process over 150 applications for seasonal summer jobs through Campminder. Applicants submit their application, W-2s, I-9, and background screening forms, etc., all online through Campminder. If someone is missing paperwork it notifies them. This saves us so much staff time and headache.

Contras:

If we could improve one thing about CampMinder: we really wish it would integrate with Zapier to further streamline our marketing and social media efforts.

Managing a camp? CampMinder is the thing for you.

Simply put: the power! CampMinder has a modular system that should be able to fit any camp of any size. From billing to medical to simple camper registration it can do it all. While it can take some time to learn things, their website and manual are very helpful. And their customer service is second to none and if you can't find an answer yourself, they will help you. We are a camp with over 1,000 unique campers per summer and CampMinder makes things a breeze.

Contras:

So, it isn't the software itself, but their advanced documentation is lacking. There have been instances when frontline customer service said something wasn't possible and i was able to figure out how to do it. That isn't ideal. Also, their support for divorced or separated families is not ideal.

Comentarios: CampMinder's exceptional customer experience is what stands out to me the most when I think of my overall experience. From the first time I started working with CM and their representatives I felt a genuine care for my program and consider CampMinder a big part of my extended camp family.

I loved that a software was created by people who were as committed to camp as those who spend their days preparing for each summer. The software itself is great and just continues to get better. Not every camp is for everyone but CampMinder is great for every camp. CampMinder feels like part of our camp family. Every member of the CM team goes above and beyond to help with whatever our needs are.

Contras:

I can't schedule emails - that is my biggest complaint at this time.

Awesome Camp Management Software

Comentarios: We are able to manage our Camper, Parent, Staff and Alumni information in one database, with effortless transitions year-to-year. Our payment portal is simple and effective, and our online registrations have increased every camp season since signing on with CampMinder.

Ease of use for people of all technical abilities. End user experience is very intuitive, and the flow of information allows for easy reporting and communication across user groups.

Contras:

We have a very large camp, 72 sessions, 1296 programs, 1500 campers and 300 staff. The system seems to slow down during peak usage, and during peak season. It's understandable based on our size, but it is cumbersome at times.
