The setting up of my account was a bit confusing at first. Was shown an invoice date that I though was the day the payment will come out and that confused me.

Tuio has been a fantastic tool to move our school into online payments and invoice management.
Comentarios: Tuio allowed us to streamline our enrolment and tuition payment processes. We are moving away from handling post-dated cheques to online direct payments. This is both a better user experience for our parents as well as saving time and generating efficiencies in the administration. It really is a Win Win!

What I like most about Tuio is that it is built from the ground up as a payment software, instead of an added-on after thought. The system is intuitive and simple to navigate while being powerful on the backend to support our needs. Our parents have had nothing but good things to say about how much they like the system.
Contras:
There are a few features which would be nice to have such as the ability to modify the payment amounts once an invoice has been issued; however, Tuio has been very responsive to suggestions and is continually publishing new features/functionality.

A Good Payment Processing Option for Microschools
Comentarios: Overall, we have been pleased with our service. We recognize that TUIO is a growing company making great strides in the education management industry. I would recommend them to schools that are looking for a high-quality school management system with a conservative budget.

First, there's no monthly fee!! This is a major bonus for schools with a conservative budget. We also like how TUIO allows for billing and invoices to be processed automatically. Reminders are sent to families three days before payment processing. The service charge per transaction is minimal and can be set to be paid by the school or the families. The onboarding process was thorough and smooth. [sensitive content hidden] is an excellent customer support liaison. We receive quality, one-on-one customer service whenever we have questions.
Contras:
The system is designed more for accountants or a finance team. Some of the filters and groupings are not intuitive. For example, looking up overdue invoices is (currently) a cumbersome process. This may be because we are not accounting savvy.

Thanks for the amazing review Lydia. To view all the overdue invoices in just one click, there is a filter in the 'Invoices' tab specifically for that purpose. I'll have support reach out to you with the relevant article.
Hoping it gets better
Comentarios: The conversion happened fairly simply, and the payment processing has been exceptional, from my perspective. However we also want to use tuio as a student information management system and so far it's lacking. Also the reporting suck so far, but we have been told this will be improved in the next few moths/in 2024.

The links to fill out forms, the notifications and payment processing are wonderful. The service is also exceptional (customer service and attentiveness)
Contras:
The reporting. Everything coming in an excel spreadsheet that must be manipulated is time consuming and not optimal

Hi Kristi, early 2024 we have a custom report feature coming at the same time as attendance. This will make pulling student info reports even easier. In the meantime TUIO support can help you if you're struggling with the spreadsheet management.

Comentarios: Overall, the experience with TUIO has been exceptional.

The attendance feature is very simple to use. The added Covid-19 Screening feature was an absolute life saver this past 18 months. The payment program is very helpful to see what monies are coming in and who is behind with their payments. The TUIO staff handle any NSF problems, so there is no need for awkward conversations with your clients. The support staff are amazing and answer and solve all of our questions usually the same day. My staff are very happy with this product and we would recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their daycare or private school operations.
Contras:
I wish that there was a way to merge the spreadsheets with our Quickbooks accounting program.

Great value, very user friendly
Comentarios: Overall it has provided a fast, easy way to organize and charge for our enrolments in various programs.
Puntos a favor:
As enrolment and payment processing software it's very user friendly and when needed, the customer service is fast and helpful. It is easy to manage and change invoices and refund full or partial invoices. The way registrations are set up is flexible with multiple options.
Contras:
As an SIS it is not fully developed. There are issues with enrolments in different programs causing duplicate students. Each enrolment is linked only to the parent who pays the invoice.

Comentarios: This experience has been great so far. I actually looked at another platform and Tuio actually works better for our needs. Actually, the only thing that was drawing me to the other program was the cost.

There is a learning curve, however, with the help of our manager is very helpful. This has really been helpful with my monthly payments.
Contras:
I am still learning and I will be able to answer more honestly after I have used this program for a few more months.

Comentarios: They have always responded quickly to any questions or concerns that I may have had.

There customer service and response time is outstanding. I have always heard from them when I have a question that needs answering.
Contras:
The forms feature is not the easiest to work with. Cannot format them how I would like.

Tuio
Comentarios: Tuio has worked great for collecting tuition payments for our learning centre. The yearly cost is reasonable and the fee charges are on par with other companies. We pass on credit card fees to our parents so the only fees that we are paying are for ACH transfers. Overall I have enjoyed using Tuio, as an administrator as well as a parent paying tuition.
Puntos a favor:
Tuio is easy to use and their customer support is great! I really like having the option of ACH payments as well as credit card payments. It cuts down on the fees and allows people to pay directly from their bank account.
Contras:
Sometimes finding the right option or setting is a little difficult.

Comentarios: From the minute I reached out for a demo I was impressed. All of the representatives I worked with were extremely knowledgeable and kind. The integration from our old system was seamless. It took less than a week to get the demo get set up and start accepting students and payments. Thank you TUIO!

TUIO's Customer Service is Stellar and Their Software is Fairly Intuitive!
Comentarios: Our overall experience has been very positive. We enjoy the professional and friendly rapport we've established with TUIOs support staff.

I love the fact that customer service is easy to access when needed. They have been quickly responsive and attentive to our needs. Plus, their tech team is always pleasant to work with. The features and functionality that might have been lacking when we 1st started using TUIO have been greatly improved. These new features have been immensely helpful to the staff who use the software AND for parents who pay their tuition/fees. I truly think they listen to their customers when it comes to adding new features.
Contras:
The initial training was a slightly difficult as it was too fast paced for a 1st time learner and difficult to understand the French-Canadian accent of the trainer.

Thank you for the helpful review Cheryl Lynn! Our initial training is much simpler now and we are able to launch the software for you and your families in 30-60 minutes max. None of our sales or support staff have an accent anymore.
Makes Our Jobs Easier
Comentarios: We love it! I recommend it to all my fellow childcare owners/operators.

As a childcare owner, I am no expert in accounting and always struggled with record keeping and yearly tax receipts were a nightmare and so time consuming. This year, with Tuio, I issued all my tax receipts in under 15 minutes. They looked professional and were accurate and there was no corrections needed. What a time saver and a professional-looking service to offer our clients.
Contras:
A lot of parents comment or panic when they set up their account and see the “total amount of all the invoices” on the first page. They don’t even bother to open the invoices, they immediately contact us wanting to know why their invoice is so high. We spend a lot of time explain it to parents. Also, there should be a mention in the sign up email(or in a more prominent spot) that is sent to new clients to alert them that the link expires in a set time. So many have needed to be resent, because they expired.

Thank you very much for the review Melanie. Happy to hear about the time savings you are taking advantage of. When the parent clicks a link that has expired, there is a self-serve option to resend a new link. I will add that language to the new parent letter from now on to make it more clear. Yes there is a clear distinction in the payment set up between any amount "due now" and any due in the future. I can understand if it's often overlooked (if they don't click to expand view of all the invoices) and can look to add ways to make it more clear what is due now versus what is scheduled to come due in the future.

Contras:
A feature that can be improved, is to allow parents to make payments before the due date. Also the ability to download and print forms from Tuio would be helpful.

Comentarios: I am super happy with TUIO since my schools started working them in 2019. The support team is really reactive and very flexible with my multiple requests, I wouldn't want to change to another program.

Fantastic app for managing our multi location schools
Comentarios: Our schools (Saturday mornings only, aligns with the K-12 school year) are mainly run by volunteers (myself included) so we do not have much time or resource to spend on school software. During the recent pandemic, our 5 schools (15+ years each) suddenly could not run classes out of the local secondary schools and we needed a solution for online registration and payments to accommodate the new Zoom classes we started offering. TUIO's entire package of Enrollment Management, Student Information System, and Payments was especially appealing because we never had to accept credit or debit cards. TUIO Support is friendly and responsive, and we have seen several of our own feedback be added as enhancements to the product.

The intuitive design and overall flexibility to configure TUIO to meet our needs.
Contras:
The accounting export requires more massaging of spreadsheet output, and the difference in time zones also made it more confusing for some of our less tech savvy users.

We went from using another company and being on paper, to switching to TUIO, and all online platform that has helped up with enrollments, tuition, and forms. This program is also super easy for our parents as well. Since having TUIO we have happier families and happier staff because of the ease of TUIO.

The ONLY thing i can think of would be not having more options to make a more customizable form for parents.

Comentarios: The support team is quick, thorough, and patient in guiding me through the program.
Puntos a favor:
The payment process has been simplified for parents and administrators, making monthly, quarterly, or annual payments more efficient.
Contras:
A few parents have had minor difficulties setting up their accounts, resulting in them reversing back to EFT which is frustrating for the school. Not sure if it's available, but if there was a support team to train/guide the parents, that would be great!!

They can also live chat or email us directly from the help beacon in the app, or call us anytime. Anytime the parent needs help, we are available to get them comfortable on TUIO.
Simple tuition management service
Puntos a favor:
Very quick onboarding and simple low pressure barrier to get started. Software itself is simple and cleanly designed and straightforward to use. We really liked the ability for families to manage their own payment methods and choosing a plan that suits them best. When they run into issues, they are able to reach out to TUIO's support directly which saves us a lot of overhead time. We are a learner-driven community and this allow us to live to that promise and not to need too many staffs to support the back office.
Contras:
Some UI/UX elements were confusing especially a new family is onboarded through the system. Given it's a startup company, we trust that they'll be able to hammer out and make improvements frequently.

After the recent update I can no longer add two separate accounts for students whose parents require this option. I have found a way around it, but it just isn't as convenient.

Thank you so much for the review Kayla! After the recent update you're now able to add a second parent to a student profile. Once that is done you can create a student enrolment for both parents if need be. It's for sure a new concept but it shouldn't be any less convenient then on the previous version of TUIO. The TUIO support team is responds to requests in a timely manner. They go above and beyond to assist admin and parents with any questions or issues that may arise. They also provide exceptional support to admin in payment collection from families for past due payments. The support they offer is unlike any other comparable software.

At the time, parents were unable to utilize more than one payment method. That may have changed since then.

We really appreciate the thorough review Laura. Your parents can have more than one payment method on TUIO and are welcome to change it invoice to invoice. If parents ever need the payment split for multiple payment methods we can accommodate that as well.

Ease of use, no upfront fees and that fees are taken from the cutover as we are a school and would not be able to afford the system otherwise
Contras:
The inability to link data, to see the student I’d - every time we need to pull new data to see the student ID. Hard to manage with pieces of information on different parts of the system - there should be a way to pull consolidated list with all system information
